Poornima presented her research at the Life Science Research Network Wales first Scientific Congress at the St David’s Hotel on the 24th and 25th of November. The Congress was attended by over 90 students and academics from across Wales and was an opportunity for them to highlight their research and discuss the challenges faced in developing the next generation of therapeutics.

Funding has been secured for optimising the cellular uptake of enzyme/gold-coated magnetic nanoparticle conjugates as part of our cancer treatment project. This will provide a system that is applicable not only in the field of cancer therapy but which is universally applicable to drug delivery systems for a range of diseases.
